biography

Islam El Nakib is Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport - College of International Transport and Logistics, Alexandria. He is currently the Dean of the College of International Transport and Logistics at AASTMT El Alamein. He was the Deputy President for Transport and Logistics Affairs (AASTMT). Prof. El Nakib was the director of NCC Egypt for the Logistics European Association (ELA). He is a Senior Logistics Expert for Logismed Project for Egypt and Jordan (An EIB Project). He was the president of Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals – Egypt Roundtable. Prof. El Nakib was the Dean of International Transport and Logistics Institute (ITLI), AASTMT, in Alexandria. Prof. El Nakib participated in a number of consultancy projects in the area of logistics and supply chain for Egypt, the Arab League and the MENA region. He coordinated and participated in a number of EU Mediterranean projects. Prof. El Nakib designed the logistics centers network for the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade (Egypt). He also developed a performance system for managing supply chain operations for many multinational companies in Egypt, KSA and Oman. Prof. El Nakib participated in designing the logistics competencies programs for executives in the field of logistics in Egypt and Jordan in coordination with the Ministry of Transport. Prof. El Nakib holds a BSc degree in International Transport Management from Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom. He obtained his MSc in Trade Logistics from Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Egypt and a PhD in Supply Chain Management from Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom. Prof. El Nakib is a certified Trainer from International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) Genève, Switzerland. IRU The International road union (IRU) Genève, Switzerland. ELA European Logistics Association, Brussels, Belgium. Prof. El Nakib's current research focuses on agility and digital supply chain applications and value Chain performance. He is publishing several research topics in value chains, logistics, supply chain management, recycling, e-logistics and logistics service providers. He consults and teaches several professional training courses at several major multi-national corporations in the field of Supply Chain Management. Prof. El Nakib is delivering professional courses in Value Chain Management, Business Logistics, Retailing Management, Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, E-Logistics, Ports Operations, procurement and inventory management and has taught in several Executive programs in several universities in MENA region.
