Biography

  • Sara Yahya is an ESP lecturer at the Institute of Language Studies (ILS) at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport. She earned a BA of language and literature from Ein Shams University with a specialization in English as she is a graduate of Faculty of Al-Alsun, with grade very good in 2009. She has English Proficiency Certificate with Grade "A" [signed on behalf of Eastern Mediterranean University, a member of the European University Association (EUA) and the international association of universities (IAU)]. She joined the ILS team in September 2009. She has several Human Resources Courses such as: Time Management, Self Planning, Self Learning, Leadership, The Synergy of the Basic Needs in Life, and Mind Mapping.
    Her career began with seven years at the Arab Academy teaching in different colleges such as: Business, Tourism, Logistics, Engineering, Maritime Marine Engineering in addition to teaching nautical-oriented English courses at Port Training Institute to engineers and others of different professions to enhance their English Language. In 2013, she has been appointed as graduate teacher assistant (GTA). She worked as an Assistant Coordinator at the department of Marine Engineering. She also received a training as an invigilator for IELTS exam. She is also member of ILS translation &editing team for example, she participated in the translation of AAST regulations, manuals …etc. Currently, she is pursuing her MA in Applied Linguistics. She had the opportunity to be enrolled in the MA program, a joint degree between AAST and Institute of Applied Linguistics, Alexandria University. She enjoys being a part of the ILS at the Arab Academy.
