    • Full time Associate Professor at the Architectural Design Department of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Alexandria, Egypt.

Teaching

  • Courses taught include:
    o Historical restoration and conservation- AAST code: AR 523, AR 721
    (developed the curriculum and scientific content for the course)
    The course is developed as a link between theories and practices of heritage conservation. The course provides a deep insight into history, ethics and philosophies of conservation coupled with a practical explanation of buildings diagnostics, repair and maintenance practices.
    o Architectural design (Graduation Project phase)- AAST code: 501
    In the graduation phase, students are required to creatively develop a comprehensive architectural project as the culmination of their architectural education. Students must present new concepts and imaginative solutions based on real problems taking into consideration different environmental, socio-cultural and structural issues.
    o Execution (workshop) drawings –AAST code: AR 557
    This course represents the finale in the series of working drawing courses taught in the Arab Academy. The course is designed to enable students to generate professional execution drawings for buildings’ structural components, functional spaces and environmental, interior, and outdoor/landscape elements.
