Dr. Sherin M. Youssef is a professor & head of computer Engineering Program, Arab Academy for Science & Technology (AAST). She received her PhD/ MSc degrees from University of Nottingham, England (UK, 2004) in Intelligent distributed systems. She received her Master degree (MSc) from University of Alexandria (Egypt, 1995) in machine intelligence. She received her BSc from the department of computer Science and Automatic control, University of Alexandria, Egypt. She is currently a professor and a senior lecturer in the department of computer engineering, college of engineering & technology, AAST. She is an IEEE senior member and a member in the International IEEE computer society, British computer society, a member in the International association of engineers (IAENG), a member in the world congress of engineering & computer science, and a member in the Arabic computer society. Dr. Sherin Youssef is a member in the Scientific committee of many International journals, a technical committee of WSEAS international conferences on computer engineering & applications, the International IASTED conferences, a technical reviewer in the IEEE International conferences on intelligent systems and International conferences on computer theory & applications. She has published in excess of 100 papers referred in top ranked international journals, conferences and lecture notes of computer science. She is leading many research groups in Video surveillance systems, Biomedical Engineering, Video & Image compression, electronic watermarking, information hiding, network security, vision analysis, and automated spy navigating robots. A member in the College Research team of Industrial Consultation, Supervisor/ System Designer for Surveillance Monitoring and Tracking Security system. . Prof. Sherin Youssef has more than 100 research publications in top highly ranked scientific journals and international conferences. Her main research interests lie in the areas of Artificial intelligence, smart systems, Intelligent agent based systems, digital signal processing, image processing, Video surveillance systems, Machine learning, network security, Intelligent Routing, Quality-of-Service (QoS) Networks, Wireless Sensor Networks, Image retrieval systems, Wavelet-based systems, Mobile Application Development, Computer-aided Medical Healthcare systems, Web-based Applications, Swarm intelligence, Evolutionary computation, Genetic algorithms, Neural networks, image compression, electronic watermarking, Multimedia systems, biometrics and biomedical engineering. She has advised/supervised more than 50 students for their Master and PhD theses. She is currently working on various projects related to academia & industry and leading many research groups. She has published more than 100 publications in various highly ranked journal papers, conference papers, and book chapters. Dr. Sherin is a senior member of various professional societies. She is a senior member of the International Advisory Committees and Organizing Committees of various international boards, conferences, symposiums and workshops. She is a senior member in Scientific Technical Committee for many international journals, conferences, meetings and workshops around the world. She has achieved many awards in research and administrative services. She has great achievements for community services
