Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport's Headquarters

The AASTMT carries out its activities in the fields of education, training and research in its headquarters in Egypt, in the cities of Alexandria, Cairo and Aswan (South of the Valley).

Alexandria

AASTMT main headquarter in AbuKir which comprises the following colleges, institutes and activities on a campus area of 52 acres:

  • The Academy's Presidency and the main conference hall.
  • College of Maritime Transport and Technology
  • College of Engineering and Technology
  • College of Computing and Technology
  • College of International Transport and Logistics
  • Integrated Simulators Complex
  • International Maritime Organization Compound (annexed by The Maritime Transport Exams Centre and The AASTMT Exams Centre)
  • Regional Informatics Centre
  • Multimedia Centre ( responsible for the development of the educational resources, multimedia production, and educational CDs)
  • Information and Documentation Centre
  • Industry Services Centre
  • Library
  • Printing house
  • Workshops of the College of Engineering and Technology
  • Furniture manufacturing workshops
  • Educational and students services represented in the Deanery of Admission and Registration, Deanery of Students Affairs, The Accommodation dorms and hostels (with a special hostel for girls), restaurants, a cyber cafe, a services area (a bank, a tele-communications centre, and a gymnasium), the clinic, the Reception Hall near the main gate.
  • Administrative services represented in the Finance Administration, the Purchases administration, the warehouses, the Human Resources Administration, and the means of transportations garages.
  • The AASTMT Sailing club.

AASTMT headquarter in Miami - Sidi-Bishr which comprises the following Colleges, Institutes and Activities:

  • The administration building, the President's office, the Research and Consultation Centre for the maritime transport sector, the Arbitration Centre and the Conference Hall.

In addition to the Port Training Institute (PTI) which is located at Alexandria Port - next to Gate 27 and AASTMT "Aida - 4" Vessel which is located inside the customs area of Alexandria port, as well as the Productivity and Quality Institute which is located in Janaklees.

Cairo

The AASTMT pursues some of its educational activities in the fields of Engineering, Management and International Transport and Logistics in Cairo in two campuses in Heliopolis and Dokki.

Aswan

The AASTMT pursues some of its educational activities in the South of the Valley Branch in Aswan. The AASTMT offers subsidized educational services for the people of Upper Egypt (Only half of the overall fees is paid).

Due to the AASTMT's activities, the diversification of its educational tracks and the multiple headquarters, the necessity to have a fleet of various transportation means has become urgent. The AASTMT fixed a pattern for its means of transportation in order to facilitate the processes of maintenance and repair. Hence, the AASTMT owns a fleet of buses for the transportation of students and employees, mini-buses for the transportation of the teaching staff, mini-trucks for the service of the AASTMT's various sites, two ambulances and a fleet of cars for the use of the employees and teaching staff members.

External Branches and the AASTMT-Arab Relations:

AASTMT'S Programmemes in the Kingdom of Bahrain:

The AASTMT also offered its educational services in the Kingdom of Bahrain in 1995 through a contract with Delmon Academy for Computer and Managerial Sciences; the aim of the contract is to offer the students a Bachelor Degree in Management Programmemes following the same procedures applied in Alexandria. This programmeme did indeed start in September 1996 under the full supervision of the AASTMT's College of Management and Technology.

The AASTMT's Branch in Syria (Lattakia):

In October 2001, the AASTMT inaugurated its branch in Lattakia, Syria. This branch offered Nautical (marine navigation) Studies and International Transport and Logistics Studies. The branch later expanded to include Engineering Studies in the field of computers. The number of students in the Syrian branch reached 1300 students. Based on the Agreement of the AASTMT's establishment, this branch is considered a successful model for the AASTMT's branches, as this branch is the outcome of a cooperation between the government of an Arab country and one of the Arab League's specialized organizations.

It is worth mentioning that a request to grant the Syrian branch a permanent headquarters was applied to His Highness Dr. Bashar Al-Assad, President of Syria by His Excellency Mr. Amr Moussa, Secretary General of the Arab League. The request was approved of and an executive plan for the establishment of the headquarters is currently being devised.

The AASTMT's International Centre in London:

After the incidents of September, 11th, the AASTMT gave Arab students who wish to pursue their studies for the bachelor's degree from pioneering foreign countries in the fields of higher education in Europe, U.S.A. and Canada, the opportunity to pursue their degrees from their home countries through the AASTMT's International Centre in London. The Centre affiliates the AASTMT's educational activities with the pioneering foreign universities. The AASTMT has also provided its International Centre in London in its permanent headquarters in: 170/173 Piccadilly, W1V9D.D - London, UK with the best Arab as well as Foreign expertise.

Arab students can also pursue postgraduate studies through cooperation agreements between the AASTMT and the leading universities in the world in various specializations. The Arab teaching staff members who work for foreign universities and who do not wish to further pursue a career there, are invited to join the AASTMT's staff where they are provided by the attractive atmosphere and the suitable compensation, in an attempt to attract them to serve their Arab homelands.
