The Quality Assurance Center (QAC) was established by H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdelghafar in 2012 under the name" Central Unit for Accreditation & Quality Assurance" to satisfy the requirements of the NAQAAE Accreditation. It was then changed to its current name (Quality Assurance Center" to monitor the level of quality of the provided educational processes by AASTMT Colleges and Institutes in all related aspects to ensure continuous improvement and achievement of excellence and uniqueness. This concept was reflected in these words that were taken as a slogan:
It was established under the presidency of the AASTMT President to ensure the independency of work and to avoid any conflict with the Educational Affairs, this is to comply with the rule No. 307 of Executive Procedure of Universities Law No. 49 for year 1973 as well as to fulfill the requirements of the Accreditation requirements for education in Colleges and Institutes.
Accordingly a Quality Unit was established in each College/institute and a Quality Coordinator in each supporting unit that is under the technical supervision of the QAC to ensure integrity and effectiveness.
QAC is seeking to reflect this philosophy by spreading Quality concepts and its implementations by continuous improvement in work procedures to ensure integrity and effectiveness to ensure the excellence in services provided regarding education, training and consultation that supports the AASTMT competitiveness locally, regionally and internationally.
The QAC as an independent unit works under the direct supervision of the President, its mission is to establish plans and strategies that ensures the improvement of the outcomes in cooperation with all central units in the Academy where performance indicators are developed and monitored to identify the gaps and assist in recommending and monitoring the corrective actions.
In this regards, the AASTMT was the leading educational institute in Egypt to obtain the Certificate of compliance of the ISO standard ISO 9001:1994 for its colleges since 1999 till now where a management system is established, implemented, maintained and continuously improved to comply with any updates of the standard. The AASTMT management system was re- certified since 1999 every 3 years where the latest update was in 2015 according to the ISO standard ISO 9001-2008 and Recertification of ISO 9001: 2015 has been done for all branches in the scope in April 2018 and the scope was extended to include College of Language & Communication, Miami & Sheraton campuses.In November 2018 the scope has been extended to include Smart Village & South valley campuses.
The QAC along its establishment assisted the Colleges in obtaining local and international accreditations for the programs delivered by its Colleges, locally all its programs are accredited from the Egyptian High Supreme Council as well as The National Authority for Quality Assurance & Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE). More other Accreditations were obtained by its Colleges like, ABET for Engineering programs, RIBA for Architecture programs, AACSB for business programs and ESG for maritime programs.
Relatively, the QAC is keen to show its mission, vision and strategy for sustaining this achievement to assist in developing a high level of satisfactory to its students, employees, members of staff and all other interested parties to comply with the AASTMT''s strategic directions for achieving excellence.
