Maritime Transport 3rd Conference "Prospective Vision of a new generation of Marine Personnel"
The College of Maritime Transport & Technology Participated in The International Forum for Maritime Transport 3rd Conference "Prospective Vision of a new generation of Marine Personnel" held in the Four Seasons hotel on 20-21 March 2012. Various participants from the industry were effectively contributing in this event discussing the future integration between Maritime Education and Training institutes and the maritime industry.
His excellence Dr. Esmail Abd El Gaffar president of the AASTMT and chairman of the conference invited remarkable guests and speakers in both the political and maritime fields. He was honored by the presence of Admiral Ali Arafa Deputy- Alexandria governor, Admiral Mostafa Wahba CEO of the Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety, Dr. Gamal Galwash, Vice President for Maritime Affairs and various members from the Egyptian parliament
Many of recognized shipping companies, fleet management companies and maritime training institutes were represented. V. Ships managing company was presented by Mr. Harun Duzgoren Managing Director, V. Ships Turkey, d'Amico Societa di Navigazione S.p.A. was presented by Ms.Luciana Maccarrone, crew manager and Mr. Sherin Naggar Chairman of Norna Shipping Corporation. The Swedish Club Academy AB was represented by Mr. Martin Herqvist Managing Director as well as CMTT was represented by Dr. Mohamed Dawood the College Dean. The effective contributions of the steamed conference partners and distinguished guests have led to successful results and recommendations, which could pave the way for positive co-operation between the professional players in the maritime industry and maritime education and training institutes. Such collaborations could find potential solutions for overwhelming the problem of lack of training for cadets and shortage of seafarers.
