Marine Accident Investigation

,

Arab Marine Accident Investigation Center (AMAIC)

The center was established at the International Maritime Organization compound in 2018 at the Academy. The Center can help the Arab countries prepare reports on incidents as per the IMO conventions requirements and United Nations convention on law of the sea (UNCLOS), and in application of the League of Arab State ministers of transport decisions.

The establishment of the center offers a qualitative advantage for Arab countries towards achieving a fundamental factor, which is the unification of capabilities and resources by uniting efforts to extract lessons learned from marine accidents, and thus defining means of prevention. This is reflected in pushing the economic strength of the Arab countries in the fields of maritime transport industry and related services. The integration of Arab capabilities can take place if good coordination is made among them.
