In implementation of the following decisions:

  • The administrative decision of Prof. Dr. / Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (Academy) No. (500) for the year 2018 and 
  • The President of the Academy No. (445) for the year 2019 and 
  • The recommendations of the Arab Transport Council of Ministers at its regular session (31) dated 23/10/2018 - At the headquarters of the Academy in Abu Qir 

The Arab Center for Maritime Accidents Investigation (Center) was established at the IMO compound of the Academy.

 

And based on the contents of the model project submitted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in June 2016 regarding advisory technical assistance to establish an Arab framework for cooperation in the investigation of marine accidents. It aims to facilitate the establishment of a pilot project for Arab countries for cooperation in investigating maritime accidents.
