Centre Of Excellence
AASTMT is a potential Centre of Excellence in biofouling management. The IMO Compound is ed among other training institutes to be capacitated via a train-the trainer workshops, courses and webinars on biofouling management so that we can deliver the capacity building programs on a regular basis, as part of our curricula of capacity building programs.
The Glofoul program is conducted under a cooperation among the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Global Environment Facility (GEF) and United Nation Development Program (UNDP) for the drive actions to implement the IMO Guidelines for the control and management of ships'' biofouling. The Guidelines provide a globally-consistent approach on how biofouling should be controlled and managed to minimise the transfer of invasive aquatic species through ships'' hulls.
