LNG Operations Simulator Course

Course Objectives

  • To develop student competence to take charge of cargo operations.
  • To enhance the student’s familiarity with routine cargo operations.
  • To develop students ability to identify and deal with malfunctions.
  • The course apply to STCW 95 requirement of reg. V/1 paragraph 2.2

Course Outline  

  • Introduction.
  • Familiarization.
  • Changing Tank Atmospheres.
  • Gassing up Briefing Including LNG vaporizer operation.
  • Cool down operation briefing including compressor operation.
  • Cargo and Ballast Operations.
  • Stability and Hull Stresses Calculations.
  • Boil off Gas.
  • Warm-up including operation of high duty heater.

The Simulator Exercises

  • Familiarization.
  • Commence and Complete inerting.
  • Commence gassing up and Complete.
  • Commence cool down.
  • Complete cool down/ commence loading.
  • Complete loading.
  • Commence discharge/ ballasting exercise 1.
  • Complete discharge/ ballasting exercise 2.
  • Loading/ boil off gas.
  • Warm up.

Duration  : 5 Days/ 30 Hours (10 theoretical- 20 Practical.)

No. of Trainees  : 4 - 12 Trainees.
