Chemical Operation Simulator Course

Course Objectives

  • To develop an understanding of the location and use of ships equipment and cargo handling system incorporated with the model.
  • To plan and execute an operational procedure include all safety aspects and pollution prevention for chemical cargo operations systems.
  • The course apply to STCW 95 requirement of reg. V/1 paragraph 2.2

Course Outline

  • Introduction.
  • Ballast condition.
  • Cargo ion.
  • Inerting tanks.
  • Cargo planning completion.
  • Loading and discharging procedures.
  • Stripping procedures and tank cleaning plan.

The Simulator Exercises

  • Empty ship.
  • Ballast condition.
  • Cargo planning.
  • Berth PS with cargo tanks under N2.
  • Loading tanks 1 and 6.
  • Fully loaded.
  • TK No. 9   half, full and discharging.
  • TK 31 and 32 empty for use as slop.
  • TK 19 discharging ready for strip.
  • Heat flow set on, main Aux Htr.

Duration  : 5 Days/ 30 Hours (10 theoretical- 20 Practical.)

No. of Trainees  : 4 - 12 Trainees.
