English for Marine Officers
This course is designed primarily for maritime students and seafarers. Emphasis is placed on the teaching of the four language skills, namely, listening, speaking, reading and writing through a nautical-based medium.

Students learn how to organize their essays and research papers, evaluate sources, paraphrase and summarize, acknowledge sources, create a list of works cited in the MLA format in addition to other styles.

This course introduces learners to the basic principles of effective report writing. Throughout the course, they learn practical applications of report writing skills, as well as work collaboratively on assignments.
