The 26th International Port Conference on Seaports & Maritime Transport "Integration for a Better Future"

Port Training Institute of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport organized its 26th International Conference on Seaports & Maritime Transport "Integration for a Better Future" at Hilton Green Plaza Hotel, Alexandria, Egypt, from 7 – 10 February 2010 under the auspices of H.E. Mr. Amr Moussa, Secretary General of the League of Arab States and H.E. Eng. Alaa Fahmy, Minister of Transport.

The conference had honored by the attendance of Mr. Gichiri Ndua, President of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH), As well as the maritime transport industry leaders, magnates and experts who focused on the recent developments in this vital and important industry and its effects on the regional and international economy.

The conference included 22 practical and scientific researches presented through 7 sessions during the conference three days duration by 7 Arab and foreign countries researchers from (Egypt – England – Slovenia – America – Sudan – Austria – Kenya). The research papers highlighted the following issues:

• Seaports and Containers Terminals Integration for a better future.
• Ports Planning and Development.
• Ports Development and Shores Protection.
• Automated Ports Operation and Logistic activities.
• Investment Issues in Ports.
• The impacts of Environmental issues and Climate changes on Ports.

As, The total number of participants in the conference was 331 participant from 26 Arab and foreign countries.

Moreover, the conference hosted the 18th annual exhibition of Equipment and Marine Services in which 34 local, Arab and foreign organizations and companies had participated.
