The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GSO) aims to achieving coordination, integration and interconnection between the GCC countries  in all areas leading to their unity, and pursuant to the objectives of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Economic Agreement calling for coordinating and unifying their economic, financial and monetary policies as well as their commercial, industrial and customs regulations in force therein, and desiring to achieve more coordination and cooperation between them in the standardization areas with a view to unifying their regulations in this respect.

In the framework of supporting all the activities of standardization and quality in the GCC countries, The Council for the Arab States of the Gulf parties agreed on cooperation with productivity and quality institute (PQI) in the following areas:

• Joint planning to raise awareness of the concepts of quality concepts through joint seminars to achieve benefit from the expertise of both parties.
• Implementation of post graduate programs offered by PQI for the GSO staff and members.
• Dual invitation from both parties for seminars workshops held by the foreign experts.
• PQI provides their experts to establish specialized centers for standardization and quality in the GCC countries.
• Participation of PQI’s tutors of training courses in any of the GCC countries in the provision.
