AASTMT Alexandria College of Maritime Transport and College of Management Graduation Ceremonies (January 2016)


It was decided to hold the Graduation Ceremonies of AASTMT Alexandria College of Maritime Transport & Technology and College of Management & Technology (Classes of January 2016) on Monday 7- 3- 2016, at 7:00 pm, at Al Zahra Hall - Hilton Green Plaza - Alexandria, where the Ceremony rehearsal will be held on the same day of the graduation ceremony at 10:00 am, at Al Zahra Hall - Hilton Green Plaza - Alexandria.

Renewal of AASTMT Maritime Safety Institute Certificate “OHSAS 18001”


AASTMT Maritime Safety Institute (MSI) has successfully completed the annual renewal audit of the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Systems Certificate (OHSAS 18001) on Monday 15- 2- 2016 and proudly received a “Noteworthy Effort” remark from the certification body (DNV.GL) based on the overall transparency and MSI commitment during the audit in addition to the proper control and comprehensiveness of management system.

AASTMT President Participation in IAMU Executive Council meetings


Within the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) membership of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) during the period from April 2016 to March 2018, H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President attended the meetings of IAMU Executive Council. IAMU Executive Council meetings were held during 15 – 17 February 2016, in Tokyo - Japan.

Within the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) distinguished relations with Cyprus Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail - AASTMT President had met H.E Mr. Marios Demetriades - Cyprus Minister of Transport, Communications and Works on Wednesday 13- 1- 2016, to discuss the ways of cooperation that are always looking forward to new future prospects.

AASTMT Sea Training Institute announces the beginning of the second semester registration of the academic year 2015 - 2016 for AASTMT guided Sea Training (5th & 6th semester) students (Nautical - Engineering) on Sunday 24- 1- 2016, as the Training will be started on 7- 2- 2016.

IAMU Honorary Chair Appreciation


H.E Dr. Yohei Sasakawa - Honorary Chair of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) sent a message to thank and appreciate H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and asked his Excellency to attend the Executive Council of the Association that will be held on February 2016 in Japan. IAMU was founded by seven universities representing the five continents of the world in November, 1999, as IAMU has significantly expanded its membership, and now boasts 58 universities/academies/faculties of the world’s maritime education and training institutions, and The Nippon Foundation as its members, totaling 59 altogether, as well as, it’s worth to mention that AASTMT is considered to be a representative university of Africa at the time of foundation in 1999.

The Arab Academy wins the membership of the Executive Council of the International Association of Maritime Universities


H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) congratulates the Arab Academy family especially the maritime transport sector on the occasion of winning the membership of the Executive Council of the International Association of Maritime Universities as the academy is one of the biggest maritime universities in the world. That was in the meetings held on Tuesday evening , the sixth of October 2015, Croatia.

Also congratulates the maritime transport sector on the occasion of selecting the academy as one of three members of the Committee on policy and planning major and that was by the nomination of members of the Executive Council by consensus and for the next two years 2016 - 2017.

AASTMT and IMO New Agreement


Within AASTMT Co-operational Agreements with different World Universities and Institutions, as within AASTMT consolidation of the bonds of cooperation with the International Maritime Organization (IMO), H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President and H.E Mr. Koji Sekimizu - Secretary General of IMO signed a new co-operational agreement between AASTMT and IMO, on Friday 27- 11- 2015, at IMO headquarters in London.

Egypt won the membership of IMO Executive Council


The Arab Republic of Egypt has won the membership of the Executive Council of the International Maritime Organization after a great year at the Egyptian Maritime sector as well as the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) that had a leading role in serving the Egyptian society and the Arab world that started its activities in January 2015 by the visit of H.E. Mr. Kojo Sekimizu - Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to AASTMT, then H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President membership in the Board of Trustees of the International Maritime University, as well as AASTMT great honor with the membership of the Executive Board of the International Association of Maritime Universities as well as the membership of policy and planning committe.

And so, H.E AASTMT President has the pleasure and honor to proudly present his congratulations on the great victory for our beloved Egypt and AASTMT on Egypt`s membership in the International Maritime Organization Executive Council, as well as His Excellency congratulates the Kingdom of Morocco on the occasion of the Council membership..

Maridive Group Delegation At AASTMT


The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) had received a delegation from Maridive Group, on Tuesday 24- 11- 2015, at AASTMT AbuKir Campus in Alexandria, and that to discuss the methods of cooperation, as the delegation visited AASTMT Planetarium, Maritime Safety Institute (MSI), Integrated Simulators Complex and AASTMT College of Maritime Transport labs, workshops and simulator.

It`s worth to mention that Maridive Group is the largest company providing offshore marine and oil support services in Egypt and the largest regionally, in terms of fleet size.

AASTMT President Participation in IMO Meetings


H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail - AASTMT President will participate in the 29th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Assembly meetings that will be held at IMO headquarters in London.

AASTMT participation in The Martime Academic Conference and Expo 2015 - MARACAD


The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) participated in the Martime Academic Conference & Expo 2015 – MARACAD that was held Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Belhaif al Nuaimi - Minister of Public Works, Chairman of the Federal Authority for Land and Maritime Transport during 9 – 10 November, 2015, at Dubai World Trade Centre - Dubai, where AASTMT delegation present three offeres in the field of the development of maritime education and training.

It`s worth to mention that H.E United Arab Emirates Minister of Public Works and H.E Vice Admiral Mohab Mamish - Chairman of Suez Canal Authority visited AASTMT expo partition.
