A workshop at Saudi Arabia That Entitled "The Role Of Logistic Activities In Supporting The Competitiveness Of The Transport Sector

H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President, H.E Prof. Dr. Gebara Bin Eid El-Soraiseri - Saudi Minister of Transport and H.E. Eng. AbdulAziz AlTuwaijri - Chairman of Saudi Ports Authority had started a workshop that entitled "The Role Of Logistic Activities In Supporting The Competitiveness of The Transport Sector", that was held during 17 – 18th September 2013, at Intercontinental Hotel - Al Jubail - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and that was organized under the auspices of AASTMT Maritime Research and Consultation Center of the maritime transport sector (MRCC), AASTMT Port Training Institute (PTI) and Port Academy for Maritime and Technical Studies at Al Dammam in cooperation with Saudi Ministry of Transport and Saudi Ports Authority.
The workshop aims at discussing the logistical definitions and concepts as well as merging these concepts and principles to help the Arab countries officials on raising the levels of logistical work performance as on providing the participants with knowledge, scientific innovations and successful experiences of modern logistics activities that achievement the excellence and global competitiveness.
It is worth mentioning, that a big gathering of maritime transport, ports and logistics experts from many countries as Sudan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Egypt had participated in the workshop, where about 16 research papers presented by experts and researchers from the Arab Republic of Egypt, England, Spain, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia had been discussed.
