His Excellency the president of the Academy congratulates the Egyptian national tennis team on the historic qualification to the Davis Cup World Group
His Excellency Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, president of the Academy, extends his sincere congratulations to the Egyptian Tennis Federation, after the Egyptian national tennis team decided to face its counterpart Ecuador, as a result of three matches without response, to officially qualify our team to the first World Group for the Davis Cup.
Our national team recorded its third victory in a row against Ecuador, through the doubles meeting, where the stars Mohamed Safwat and Karim Mamoun played against Andres Andrada and Diego Hidalgo, after winning 7/6 and 7/6 to earn the Pharaohs the official boarding card for the first time in the history of Egyptian tennis, in the match held at the main stadium of the island club.
The list of our team included the Academy's son Michael Sobhi, Mohammed Safwat, coach and player, Karim Mamoun, Amr Asrawi and Akram al-Salali.
