AASTMT Participation in the Arab Ministers of Communications and Information Council

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) participated in the meetings of the 27th Session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Communications and Information, the 53rd Meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Telecommunications and Information Council of Ministers (ATICM) and the 52nd session of Arab Communications and Information Permanent Committee, that are hosted by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), during the period from 15 - 18 January 2024, in Abu Dhabi - UAE. During the meetings, a number of issues were discussed related to the coordinated and collective Arab action in the fields of communications, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.

Dr. Moustafa Rashid - Assistant to AASTMT President for Arab Affairs, as AASTMT official representative and on behalf of H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President, participated in the activities of the meetings that were held under the chairmanship of H.E. Talal Humaid Belhoul - Chairman of the Board of Directors of UAE Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority. The meetings were held in the presence of Arab Ministers of Communications and Information, the delegation of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, headed by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Ali Al-Maliki - Assistant Secretary-General and Head of Economic Affairs Sector, and H.E. Minister Plenipotentiary Dr. Khaled Waly - Director of the Communications and Technology Development Department, in addition to officials and representatives of entities and organizations with observer status, including AASTMT, the Arab Regional Office of United Nations (UN) International Telecommunication Union, the Arab Organization for Information and Communication Technologies, and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).
