On Monday, May 22, 2023, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in Abu Qir - Deanship of Prof. Dr. Akram Suleiman Al-Salami witnessed a visit from the Spirax Sarco team, which is one of the largest companies in the field of manufacturing supplies for steam lines and fluid control in the world with more than 100 years of experience.The activities of the visit took place in cooperation between the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Control Engineering, Marine Engineering, Platforms and the Student Branch IEEE AAST ALEX SB and ASHRAE Alexandria Chapter.

Today's activities began with a tour of the College of Engineering and Technology to become acquainted with some of the college's laboratories, as well as meetings with students from the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Platforms, and Electrical and Control Engineering, to discuss ways for the College of Engineering and the company to collaborate. Following that, a scientific conference on "Sustainable Steam Systems" was held in the presence of a significant number of college students. Whereas the seminar began with an introduction to the firm, its operations, and its different headquarters across the world, as well as the numerous services it provides in various industrial disciplines, it has since expanded to include a discussion of the company's services in various industrial fields. Following that, a scientific presentation on steam systems and technical solutions that primarily serve to rationalize energy and increase the efficiency of steam networks in facilities, hence lowering costs, lowering carbon emissions, and achieving the goals of sustainable development for institutions.
