The Launching of the International Conference on “Media & Information Literacy and Global Understanding: Peace for All”
Within the framework of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) to promote ongoing development in all areas, AASTMT headed by H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President launched the activities of the International Conference on “Media & Information Literacy and Global Understanding: Peace for All”, on Sunday 24- 3- 2024. The conference will be held under the auspices of His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit - Secretary General of the League of Arab States, and is organized by AASTMT Heliopolis Campus College of Language and Communication in cooperation with UNESCO, during the period from 22 - 25 April 2024, with the participation of a number of representatives of Arab and European countries, the United States of America, Mexico, Canada, Brazil. India, China, Japan, Portugal, Italy, Finland, Russia and Nigeria.
The activities of launching the International Conference on “Media & Information Literacy and Global Understanding were held in the presence of H.E. Ambassador Ahmed Al-Khattabi - Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector of the League of Arab States, and H.E. Minister Plenipotentiary Dr. Raed Al-Jubouri - Director of the administration of Arab organizations and unions in the League of Arab States, in addition to a distinguished elite of media professionals, journalists, satellite channels, and a group of AASTMT senior officials, where they discussed the importance of promoting media culture and its role in peaceful coexistence among peoples and combating terrorism, extreme ideologies, and harmful stereotypes.
