The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport is ranked second in the United States International submarine competition
The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport won the second place in the international competition for submarines , MATE ROV 2019, which concluded its effectiveness today in Kings Port, USA.
This competition is held annually under the auspices of MATE, Oceanering, Eastman, Microsoft, and NASA.
The Arab Academy team won INVICTUS second place in the cumulative total and the first place for the part of the tasks of water.
The competition was attended by 70 teams from 20 participating countries. The number of participants was 1200 students from around the world, including America, Russia, Switzerland, Holland, Canada, China, Malaysia, UAE, Tunisia, Germany and England.
The team qualified for the international competition after participating in the regional qualifiers in Egypt held at the Arab Academy in Abi Qir under the supervision of the Regional Information Center during the period 11-13 April 2019. 45 Arab teams and 750 students from Egypt, Tunisia, UAE, Morocco and Saudi Arabia participated.
The ROV is an international competition launched in 2001 to provide university students, schools and technical institutes the opportunity to learn and develop underwater robotics. These robots are used in various industries, marine and aquatic fields, especially repairing, installing and maintaining marine communications cables, Communications and information between the various continents of the world, in addition to oil and gas industries, maritime transport, rescue and ocean engineering and others.
Dr. Ismail Abdul Ghaffar Ismail Faraj congratulated the students of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport for winning the second place in the International submarine Championship under the supervision of Eng. Amr Khamis, which was held in a Tennessee state in the United States of America.
