Salem Nabil Abu Bakr
Salem Nabil Abu Bakr graduated from the College of Engineering and Technology, Mechanics Department in September 2019.A journey that lasted for 5 years, which started by joining the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport in 2014. After joining the academy, I noticed that it took part in many scientific competitions and activities, such as remotely operated vehicles (ROV), mine detectors, formula, ACM competitions among others. The Academy has given me the opportunity to participate in many competitions in different fields through which I was able to choose the most suitable major for me. Hence, I joined the competition of ACM in 2015 and then the ROV and mine detectors competitions in 2016. Then in 2017, I joined the formula team, which works on designing complete race cars to be qualified to take part in international competitions. In the following year, we formed a full team comprised of different departments at the College of Engineering and Technology, Computing, Logistics and the College of Language and Communication, all of which is aimed at building an integrated system that seeks to benefit from practical expertise. This cooperation was extremely fruitful in turning any project into a substantial real product. It did not stop even at that point, but it also managed to reach an international position, as we were chosen by the Academy of Scientific Research to represent Egypt and the Arab countries at Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions held in Switzerland in 2019.The latest achievement was to initiate a cooperation with National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences to be the first and only representative of the Middle East at the Satellite Conference in the United States, which witnessed launching the first ever Egyptian company for space sciences and artificial intelligence. It is also worth mentioning that only in 5 year time, we managed to obtain a membership at the IFIA in Switzerland.
