objectives • This course discusses the design and operation of commercial marine power plant and systems. It will cover the analysis of prime mover working principle and all alternatives in propulsion plant design for given physical, performance, and economic constraints.rn• The course also investigates thermodynamic analyses of Rankine, Brayton, Diesel, and Combined cycles. rn• The course covers the recent trends in marine power plants and design processes with the calculation steps to determine and the required equipment of marine systems. The students have to know all the processes required to control the pollution and recover the waste heat energy.rn
