1 General arrangement of some special ship types.
2 General design theories and approaches, introduction to conceptual design of special types of ships, methods of ship design.
3 Preliminary design methods for sizing and form, estimation of a ship`s dimensions, weights, and capacity.
4 Selection of principal dimensions, form coefficients, materials, and scantlings of hull structure, mast and rigging.
5 Hydrostatics, stability, subdivision analysis, load lines and freeboard, tonnage.
6 Computer aided representation of hull shape and drawings. Preliminary lines plan.
7 Powering, maneuvering, and sea-keeping estimation.
8 Propeller, main machinery, and auxiliary machinery.
9 Design of propeller and shafting.
