SM-VIS: Visualizing Overlay Student Models in Intelligent Learning Systems
This paper presents SM-VIS, a framework used to visualize overlay student models built in Intelligent Learning Systems (ILS). The framework allows the teacher who uses intelligent learning systems to set an automated process to import overlay student models in various formats, then the system will automatically visualize the student models. The overlay student model will be visualized on the concept map in a way that displays the lesson concepts as nodes, concepts relationships as arrows, and the student level will be displayed on the nodes. SM-VIS provides the teacher with a viewpoint that helps him/her to make decisions in order to improve the students’ learning process.
