The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) reaffirm its commitment to public service and educational equity by making its buildings and facilities accessible for national and regional needs. During the 2023–2024 academic year, AASTMT demonstrated exceptional solidarity by hosting the Sudanese Final Examinations, ensuring that students displaced by the ongoing crisis had a safe, stable, and fully equipped environment to continue their education.
In addition, AASTMT campuses regularly operate as accredited venues for national and international examinations, including the Egyptian Scholastic Test (EST) and the IELTS exams. By providing secure, high-quality testing spaces for students from across Egypt, the Academy’s facilities serve as essential public infrastructure that expands educational access and supports fair opportunities for academic and professional advancement.
Public Engagement with Science, Culture, and Maritime Heritage:
- University of Khartoum Final Exams – During the 2023–2024 academic year, AASTMT opened its buildings to host final exams for the University of Khartoum, providing displaced students with a safe, stable, and fully equipped environment to continue their education. This initiative reflects AASTMT’s commitment to inter-Arab academic cooperation and educational equity.

2.STEAM School Visits – AASTMT’s College of Engineering and Technology (COET) at the Al Alamein campus hosts STEAM school visits, welcoming students from local schools to explore scientific, technological, engineering, arts, and mathematics concepts. These visits provide hands-on learning experiences, foster early interest in STEM fields, and strengthen community engagement with science. In addition, the AASTMT Planetarium Center in Abu Qir serves as a cornerstone of community outreach, welcoming high-profile delegations such as participants of the Seventh Session of the Arab Universities Youth Camp. These programs promote scientific literacy among future leaders and inspire young learners to engage with research, innovation, and technology.

3.Orientation Days – The Academy opens campus lecture halls, laboratories, libraries, and student support facilities to prospective students and their families during Orientation Days. These events allow the wider community to engage directly with faculty, explore academic opportunities, and experience AASTMT’s inclusive educational environment.

4.AIDA IV Maritime Heritage – The historic training ship AIDA IV, gifted by JICA in 1992, remains a public maritime heritage asset. It is not only a central part of cadet training but also a cultural and historical symbol accessible to visitors, preserving Egypt’s maritime legacy

Hosting Global Competitions and Events
1.International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) – AASTMT hosts ICPC competitions at both national and international levels, including the 2024 World Finals in Luxor under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The event brought together thousands of participants from 111 countries, providing a platform for innovation, collaboration, and STEM engagement.

1.AASTMT Scientific Conferences - AASTMT regularly hosts scientific conferences covering topics such as smart cities, resilient transportation, waste management, maritime safety, sustainability, and digital transformation. These events bring together researchers, policymakers, and industry experts to share knowledge and advance solutions for sustainable development.
2.Workshops and Student Engagement - AASTMT organizes workshops and public activities to engage students and the community, fostering research skills, practical learning, and civic participation.
3.Community-Engaged Events and Cultural Activities - The Academy also hosts community-engaged events that combine scientific learning with cultural outreach, ensuring knowledge benefits both students and the wider public.
