biography

Dr. Marium Shamaa born 1986, graduate of Elekbal Elkawmeya language school in Alexandria (class 2002), studied pharmaceutical science (2003–2007) at Alexandria University, Egypt and graduated with a general grade “excellent with honor and ranked 19th”. She received her master degree (2012) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IGSR, Alexandria University) and PhD degree (2016) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IGSR, Alexandria University). She is currently working as an associate professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, college of Pharmacy, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Alexandria, Egypt and simultaneously a member in the editorial board of the Universal Journal of Pharmaceutical Research. She gives lectures of Biochemistry I: chemistry of biomolecules (PCS 221), Principles of cell biology (PCS 121), Biochemistry II: metabolism (PCS 224) and principles of Biophysics (PCS 124). She is studying the Clinical Pharmacotherapy Course for the American board in pharmacotherapy. She is passionate in clinical biochemistry and pharmacotherapy field. She involves her students in a variety of interactive learning techniques, some of them based on cooperative learning, problem solving and mobile learning techniques, Simulation and virtual labs activities that provide them with opportunities to apply the skills in real-life after graduation. She is currently engaged in many academic and professional activities such as being the head of training committee, college of pharmacy, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, participating in organizing workshops, pharmacy and orientation days in my College in AASTMT. She is the head of the clinical and biological science department quality assurance unit and the second semester portfolios. Also, she is the college of pharmacy head and representative of the timetables. She was a Lecturer in the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pharos University in Alexandria (PUA). In addition to her academic work for nine years in PUA and for one year in the Faculty of Pharmacy Alexandria University, she worked as a member of the Quality Assurance Unit of the Faculty of Pharmacy in PUA and she was the head of the Faculty Committee and Assistants members Standard. She also attended a number of international conferences such as, Pharma-2018, Rome, Italy, DUPHAT-2018, Emirates, Dubai, Pharma Middle East International Conference in Dubai, 2015 and the 4th international conference in pharmaceutical sciences in Cairo 2017. She also attended and successfully completed some valuable workshops in Advanced Molecular biology and Biotechnology techniques. She also attended and successfully completed all the workshops in the Education Development center and got a certificate of completion from the EDC center. She was also one of the Board of Students Activities Committee (Scientific Research committee) in Faculty of Pharmacy, PUA. Her professional interests focus Biochemistry, Molecular biology, Immunotherapy, Bioinformatics, Pharmacotherapy, Pharmacogenetics, Oncology and Liver diseases.
