biography

Master on board high speed craft "Bridge 1" and on board many different types of ships including oil tankers, in world wide trade. Marine consultant for some shipping companies (operation and safety management). A reviewer for: - Journal of Marine Engineering and Technology, Impact factor 0.406, (J Mar Eng Technol, 2046-4177) - Journal of Shipping and Ocean Engineering, USA. I commenced teaching as a part time lecturer in the Maritime Safety Institute, (MSI) of the AASTMT since June 2001 and full time since Oct 2005. My MSc. thesis was awarded in the World Maritime University "Malmo, Sweden" for the best dissertation prize for the year 2008, based on which the IMO Polar code and SOLAS chapter XIV that entered into force on 1 Jan 2017. Moreover, Ive passed 2 diplomas in marine surveying from the Lloyd's Maritime Academy in UK in ISM survey in 2009 (with merit) and in warranty survey including mobile offshore drilling units in 2012, (with distiction). I passed assessor and verifier assessment as per the Scottish qualification authority, UK. PhD in ships utilization along Suez Canal compared to other maritime alternative routes.
