Biography

  • Dr. Reham Farouk El Shazly, PhD in Applied Linguistics and Education
    Dr. El Shazly is an assistant professor at the College of Language and Communication (CLC) at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (Egypt). She is also a certified IELTS writing and speaking examiner at IDP Australia with credentials of academic achievements and professional development. She is currently holding the position of the Head of the Language and Translation department at the CLC with over twenty-year experience in EFL/ESP instruction and program coordination. She held other key positions in her institution such as being Head of Quality Assurance Unit and being Head of the Testing Center.

    Dr. El Shazly earned her PhD in Applied Linguistics and Education research from Cardiff Metropolitan University, Wales, UK. She obtained her masters in TEFL from the American University in Cairo, Egypt. She is interested in a diversity of research areas with extensive academic background and coursework in linguistics, applied linguistics, research methods. Her interest includes critical discourse analysis, semiotics and multimodal critical discourse analysis, linguistics, as 
pragmatics, semantics, second language acquisition and foreign language anxiety, language assessment and proficiency tests, research in pedagogy, research methods, computer-assisted language learning (CALL), English for specific purposes (ESP) as well as interdisciplinary research work.
