Hany Hanafy Mahmoud Said earned his B.Sc. in Computer Engineering in 2003 and his M.Sc. in Computer Engineering in 2008 from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT). He obtained his Ph.D. in Computing from Staffordshire University in 2015. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the College of Artificial Intelligence, AASTMT. He worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from 2005 to 2008 and then as an Assistant Lecturer from 2009 to 2015 at the same institution. In 2016, he joined the Computer Engineering Department as an Assistant Professor. In October 2023, he moved to the College of Artificial Intelligence and was promoted to Head of Quality Assurance Unit in 2024. His research interests mainly include multi-modal machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, virtual reality, blockchain-based technology, and robotics. He is a member of IEEE and serves as a reviewer for several highly ranked academic journals. In 2024, he received two publication awards in recognition of Q1 (2) journal publications. In addition, one of his papers received a Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Computer Theory and Applications in November 2025.
