Graduation Projects Showcase for the First Cohort of the Professional Diploma in Medical Laboratory Quality and Accreditation

In a practical embodiment of education aligned with healthcare sector needs, the Productivity and Quality Institute (PQI) – Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport – held the graduation project presentations for the first cohort of the Professional Diploma in Medical Laboratory Quality and Accreditation.

Supervised by Prof. Dr. Rania El Sharkawy, Professor of Clinical Pathology and Program Director, the sessions brought together a distinguished panel of faculty experts, including:

• Prof. Dr. Amina Hesab, Alexandria University

• Prof. Dr. Ola Sharaky, Alexandria University

• Prof. Dr. Mona Wagdy Ayad, Alexandria University

Also present was Dr. Ibrahim Rostom, PQI’s Assistant Dean for Training Affairs.

The diploma participants presented applied projects covering critical themes such as laboratory performance evaluation, internal quality indicators, and process improvement strategies. The panel commended the strong academic and professional quality of the work, noting the participants’ ability to translate theoretical learning into practical tools applicable within real-life medical laboratory environments.

This milestone reflects the diploma’s success in equipping participants with essential competencies for advancing quality and accreditation in the healthcare sector. It also aligns with PQI’s mission to foster specialized applied education that directly meets labor market needs in healthcare.
