AASTMT - Regional Center for Training and Technology Transfer for Arab Countries "Agreement"
Within the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) continuous endeavor to always look forward to new future horizons, H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - AASTMT President, and H.E. Prof. Dr. Mostafa Hussein Kamel - Director of the Regional Center for Training and Technology Transfer for Arab Countries”, signed a cooperation agreement between AASTMT and the Regional Center for Training and Technology Transfer for Arab Countries affiliated with the Basel Convention “BCRC”. The agreement was held at AASTMT Smart Village campus, in the presence of AASTMT officials.
AASTMT and BCRC agreement was signed with the aim of developing and implementing joint programs and workshops, in addition to enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest under the Basel Convention. The two parties were also eager to gather, assess, and share knowledge, training and awareness initiatives, and environmentally successful case studies with all Arab nations as to complete the regional system of sustainable management in accordance with the multilateral international agreements to manage hazardous materials and waste in order to dispose them in an environmentally sound manner with regarding the standards of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
