Opening of Animal House Facility in The College of Pharmacy

Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag opened the Animal House Facility in the building of the College  of Pharmacy in Abu Qir campus, last Monday 18 September, in the presence of Professor Dr. Amira Senbol, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Kilani, Dean of  Industry Service Complex, Vice deans of the College, College staff members and distinguished students. The opening was also attended by Dr. Mohamed Onsi Al-Shafi’i, head of the Alexandria Pharmacists Syndicate, and Dr. Amr Abbasi, director of Ayady Almostakbal Hospital for Oncology.

The opening of the Animal House laboratories represents a new addition to the academy’s achievements, as these laboratories represent valuable educational opportunities for pharmacy students and provide researchers in the medical sector with the possibility of studying the effects of various medicines and treatments and determining their safety before testing them on humans. The animal house unit and its attached laboratories consist of 15 rooms and a laboratory for subsistence of animals and conducting specialized experiments, with full commitment and control over the application of ethics and rules for the use of animals in scientific research. The President of the Academy thanked all the Academy departments responsible for this achievement, wishing the family of the College of Pharmacy more progress and excellence.
