Description

Display knowledge of different types and classifications of T.V drama Watch specific series that represent these types Understand /Analyze the various dramatic elements in each type Display an understanding of different dramatic/technical devices/strategies Identify/ Discriminate the various themes and devices used to portray these themes. Develop and achieve an objective critical comprehensive view of different tele dramatic works. Evaluate /Interpret the scriptwriter’s and director’s' visions /thematic concerns Enhance the process of eliciting, understanding, and critical thinking. Provide students with observational, organizational, and imagination skills. Provide students with the right skills to tell an exciting and engaging story. Enhance students’ writing skills and introduces them to different methods of writing an adaptation. Depict gaps in plots and give feedback on each others’ work. Practice how to write a dramatic scene and dialogue in order for them to write the script of a TV series of their own creation.

Objectives

  • This course is designed to widen the students’ knowledge of T.V. Drama in order to enable them to cultivate an awareness of generic learning skills involved. This course will develop a critical approach to view different dramatic works broadcast on T.V, and enhance the student’s communication, critical skills and developing strategies of objective analysis applied on different T.V. dramatic works. Students will be asked to submit several critical essays applied to selected series.
