By the end of the course, the students should be able to: Recognize various genres of films and their prominent scriptwriters. Understand the elements, principles, and phases of visual storytelling process. Comprehend the principles and techniques of writing short films. Identify the principles of writing a creative dialogue and meaningful scenes. Understand the dramatic narrative structure and its types. Identify the different formats of TV dramatic series. Compare between the different genres of narrative storytelling. Demonstrate an understanding of major theoretical, dramatic, and practical concepts in screenplay writing. Plan and outline their own screenplays. Discuss the different types of characters and their roles in the screenplay. Demonstrate the ability to come up with ideas and stories that can appeal to a specific audience. Demonstrate their abilities to research about screenplay writing and prominent scriptwriters. Apply the visual storytelling principles to develop plots of their original stories. Sketch and develop different character types. Write a well-structured dialogue and creative scenes for their screenplays. Write a screenplay format for their own original stories. Create a plot to a story, develop characters, and execute work in the screenwriting format. Write a screenplay for a short film using the structures and the techniques they learned. Develop their critical thinking skills. Analyze and edit their own work. Demonstrate the ability to work in a team. Explore and develop their own ideas and writing style.
