Description

This course will develop relational database design skills and techniques. An emphasis will be placed on design standards and developing proper design techniques. Students will be required to design multiple database models from business requirements and specifications. Understanding ramifications of designs from the application and database level will also be covered. Experiences include the creation of a logical design, and translation into a physical database using the relational model. Queries will be performed using both a host language interface and Structured Query Language.
