Description

This course provides students with an introduction to the history of cosmetics, fundamental terminology, and personal care products. The course will cover the regulatory standards set forth by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) pertaining to the registration, labelling, marketing, importing, and exporting of cosmetic items. Additionally, it will explore the role played by the National Health Regulatory Authority in this context. Also, this course will encompass matters pertaining to intellectual property, specifically patents and trade. In addition to examination of several aspects of cosmetics manufacturing, including facility needs, stability of the product, packaging, safety, and methods of testing for cosmetic products and their ingredients.
