CEDARE Welcomes AASTMT Students for an Educational Visit on Sustainable Development and Environmental Initiatives

The Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) was delighted to host a delegation of students and faculty members from the Faculty of Management and Technology at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in Cairo. This educational visit provided an opportunity for students to learn about CEDARE’s impactful work in sustainable development at regional and national levels.

The AASTMT delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. Nadia Makram Ebeid, Executive Director of CEDARE, alongside Dr. Hossam Allam, Regional Director of the Sustainable Growth Program; Dr. Khaled AbuZeid, Regional Director of the Water Resources Management Program; and Dr. Omar El Badawy, Regional Director of the Land Resources Management Program. The team introduced the students to CEDARE’s various initiatives, aligned with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and discussed ways to address climate change impacts.

The visit covered key topics, including sustainable urban planning, smart and sustainable transportation, and sustainable tourism. Through this engagement, students gained insights into the latest developments in these fields and CEDARE’s leading role in managing diverse projects that support environmental sustainability and climate resilience in the Arab region. This experience reinforced AASTMT’s commitment to fostering climate awareness and sustainability skills among its students.
