AASTMT Participates in Spanish Event on Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs) in Alicante

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) recently participated in the three-day Spanish dissemination event for Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs) in Alicante, Spain. This event, co-organized by Diputación de Alicante, Ayuntamiento de Sax, and the Instituto Valenciano de la Edificación, focused on advancing energy efficiency and climate action in the Alicante region, with special attention to strategies for reducing CO2 emissions and promoting renewable energy solutions.

AASTMT, a key partner in the SEACAP 4 SDG project, joined experts from various organizations to present the project’s objectives and tools. The event highlighted the project’s impact through the case study of the municipality of Sax, which was selected as a pilot to improve its SECAPs using the project’s comprehensive Toolkit. This collaboration aligns with AASTMT’s commitment to SDG 13, fostering sustainable energy transition and climate resilience in the Mediterranean region.

Through its involvement, AASTMT underscored the importance of international cooperation in achieving low-carbon initiatives and supporting climate action goals across borders. The event served as a platform for AASTMT to share its expertise in sustainable practices, further solidifying its role in advancing climate-conscious policies and renewable energy practices. The academy’s contributions reflect its ongoing dedication to promoting climate literacy and developing innovative strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in line with global sustainability objectives.
