As part of its ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) has implemented a specialized training program on municipal solid waste management in Qalyubia. This initiative, coordinated through the Ministry’s Waste Management Regulatory Authority, aims to enhance the skills and expertise of those managing the integrated waste management system in the governorate. The training program aligns with AASTMT’s dedication to sustainable practices and climate resilience, furthering the academy’s commitment to SDG 13.
The training covered key topics on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, sustainable waste management strategies, and methods to optimize waste processing to mitigate environmental impacts. This program supports AASTMT’s mission to foster climate awareness and to build capacity for implementing eco-friendly practices within local communities.
Through this initiative, AASTMT emphasizes its role in Egypt’s climate action efforts by promoting low-carbon solutions and waste management best practices. The academy’s partnership with the Ministry of Environment highlights the importance of community-based environmental education and AASTMT’s leadership in advancing sustainable development across Egypt.
