Academic Policies

 

Course Registration

 

  • Students with a GPA of 2.0 or above are required to register for 6 courses each semester. In the last two semesters, students must register for 7 courses.
  • Students with a GPA below 2.0 must register for 4 courses.
  • Students with a GPA of 3.4 or higher may register for 7 courses in any semester.

 

Attendance

 

  • Attendance is mandatory for at least 80% of lectures, sections, and labs.
  • If a student misses 3 classes, a withdrawal warning will be issued. Missing one more class will result in forced withdrawal.

 

Course Changes

 

  • Students may add or drop courses until the end of the second week of the semester.
  • Withdrawal from a course can be done until the fourteenth week with approval from the student’s academic guide counseling.
  • Enforced withdrawal will occur if a student’s absence from course lectures and tutorials exceeds 15% of the total number of classes.

 

Study Postponement

 

  • Students may postpone their studies for up to one semester with approval from the relevant delegation section.
  • A request for postponement must be submitted to the Deanery of Admission & Registration before the start of the semester.
  • Fees for resuming study after a postponement of more than one semester will be according to enrollment fee categories.

 

Resuming Study

 

  • Students who have previously postponed their studies may resume by submitting a request to the Deanery of Admission & Registration at least two weeks before the start of the semester.
  • Students who have withdrawn from studying may re-register by applying to the Deanery of Admission & Registration a month prior to the start of the semester.
  • Fees for re-registration will be based on previous accomplishments, grades, and the period of study break off.

 

Graduation Requirements

 

  • Students must achieve 144 credit hours to graduate. Specific credit hour details vary by major.
  • Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.

 

Expulsion Policies

 

  • Students with a GPA less than 2.0 for two consecutive semesters will be expelled from their major.
  • Students with a GPA less than 2.0 for more than two semesters or who transfer to another college will be expelled from the university.

 

Transfer Regulations

 

Admission to some department programs may require additional requirements beyond the general university admission criteria for transfer students. Interested transfer students are advised to review the department requirements before submitting their application.

 

Online Admission for College Transfer Students

 

The Academy welcomes online applications from college transfer students seeking admission. Transfer applicants are required to submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.

 

Readmission Regulations

 

The Academy considers readmission applications from students who have postponed their studies for up to two semesters. Students must submit their application for readmission one month prior to the start of the semester. The Academy will consider the student's previous academic performance in their decision to readmit. Once readmitted, students are subject to the rules and regulations of the Academy in effect at the time of their readmission.
