What Is Business Information Systems?

Business Information Systems is a field that mashes up various disciplines (such as computer science and management).  The tools, techniques, and concepts of these various disciplines are used in this applied and managerial field to find solutions to a variety of business problems.

The department has been strengthening its relationships with industry, government, and non-profit organizations. For instance, the department has an agreement of collaboration with the Administrative    Development ministry of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Moreover, in the summer of 2009, the BIS department joined the eAladin network of “e” universities. This network which started first as the Alpine Adrian network of European universities interested in all the “e” areas such as e-commerce, e-government, and e-health has been extended to include AASTMT and several other world-renowned universities.
