Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Intelligent Systems is an undergraduate program offered by the College of Artificial Intelligence at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT). According to the 2023 curriculum, the program extends over four years, divided into eight academic semesters, and requires the completion of 144 credit hours. The program provides a comprehensive foundation in mathematics, basic sciences, programming, computer science, and artificial intelligence. Students study specialized topics in machine learning, deep learning, intelligent agents, natural language processing, computer vision, robotics, and intelligent system development. The curriculum also emphasizes software engineering principles, algorithm design, data analysis, and the evaluation of artificial intelligence models. Through practical laboratory work, professional training, summer training, and graduation projects, students gain experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating AI-based solutions. The program promotes analytical thinking, innovation, teamwork, effective communication, ethical responsibility, and lifelong learning, preparing graduates to contribute to the development of intelligent technologies and autonomous systems.

Learning Outcomes

  • Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be able to: Apply mathematical, statistical, computational, and engineering principles to formulate and solve complex problems. Design, develop, implement, and evaluate artificial intelligence models for solving real-world problems. Apply machine learning and deep learning techniques to develop intelligent systems capable of learning from data and experience. Implement appropriate artificial intelligence algorithms for computer vision, image and pattern recognition, natural language processing, and robotics. Analyze data, interpret results, and use appropriate statistical methods to support evidence-based conclusions. Design and implement software solutions using suitable programming languages, development tools, and software engineering methodologies. Compare and evaluate alternative AI techniques, algorithms, and models to determine their effectiveness for specific applications. Develop intelligent applications that address practical challenges in fields such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, transportation, and smart cities. Consider ethical, social, economic, environmental, and professional factors when designing and deploying artificial intelligence systems. Manage AI projects effectively, work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, and communicate technical findings to different audiences. Demonstrate critical thinking, creativity, innovation, and the ability to acquire new knowledge and adapt to emerging technologies.
