AASTMT Neutral Platforms Policy

Policy Purpose

This policy clarifies that AASTMT permits its students and staff to either participate or initiate a platform for discussing different issues, promoting community involvement and fostering collaborative decision-making.

Policy Statement

In addition to the academic freedom for the AASTMT staff, AASTMT also always supports its students and employees to discuss and express their opinions in neutral platforms that uphold human rights. These platforms are under the supervision of AASTMT Personnel and designed to encourage public participation from all community members. All AASTMT communities can freely join and engage in discussions on these platforms, provided they comply with the rules set by AASTMT for neutral and fair interactions.

Rules Governing Platforms in AASTMT

  • Respect diversity, equality and inclusion for the platform members.
  • Uphold human rights, ensuring freedom of speech, thought, and intellectual inquiry to the extent that the law allows.
  • Encourage responsive actions that contribute to achieving the AASTMT vision and mission.
  • Facilitate collaborative decision-making process within discussions.
  • Ensure that platforms have a clear impact on the topics being discussed.
  • Safeguard the safety and security of platform data and information.
  • Respecting the intellectual property rights of others.
  • Promote employee involvement by encouraging faculty and staff to participate actively in discussions.
  • Sharing personal information on the platforms is banned.

Any other unethical actions are prohibited in the platforms.

AASTMT actively encourages students to voice their opinions in impartial forums and platforms. These platforms serve as spaces where the AASTMT community can openly participate in discussions, adhering to the institution's guidelines for maintaining neutrality and fairness. The section shows some of these platforms such as the political debating club, College of Law magazine, etc.

Political Science Debating Club

Political Science Debating Club, operates under the auspices of the Political Science Association (PSA), is a source of pride for us. This platform allows people with differing perspectives to join in conversations from multiple aspects, defending and questioning various subjects. By participating in these discussions, students can hone their analytical skills, learn important debating methods, and improve their ability to effectively advocate for their points.
In addition to sharpening debate abilities, the club will discuss important subjects such as human rights, political involvement, political engagement, transparency, and freedom of expression. By focusing on these essential areas, the club hopes to create a greater awareness of these topics among participants, fostering a more informed.

The AASTMT College of Law Magazine serves as a beacon of legal insight and scholarly discourse, embodying the principles of the rule of law, freedom, and respect for human rights. Political Science Journal provides a forum for scholarly discourse, with a focus on critical subjects such as information freedom, human rights, and active engagement. 'POLISPECTATOR,' our debut Political Science publication, as a critical first step ahead that welcomes varied perspectives, encouraging debates about both support and opposition, as well as an evaluation of benefits and disadvantages. It covers a wide range of themes for students to access a multitude of material and broaden their awareness of a variety of topics.

E- Learning Platform Training Workshop Conducted by AASTMT

An e-learning platform training workshop has been organized by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Egyptian partner of GREENLAND, for three days, from 25th to 27th July 2022 in Alexandria, Egypt. 

During this training, AASTMT introduced the new meeting hub platform to all the partners allowing the virtual meeting. All the partners joined for a trial to test the system stability and facilities. Moreover, the workshop included a detailed explanation about the new e-learning platform system facilities such as adding the courses, the quizzes, and the evaluation procedure.
