The IMO compound of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport introduces a bundle of the following services:

  • Capacity Building Programs (CBPs) and STCW courses for the following ranks:

- operation and management levels of seafarers

- maritime administration and shipping companies&rsquo personnel.

We have the honor to experience assistance to some maritime administrations, flag state authorities and port state controls in many fields including independent evaluation.

The CBPs and training courses come under a new technical service that was recently established in the IMO Compound of the Arab Academy, AASTMT, in Sept. 2017, to serve the League of Arab States members, shipping companies, maritime administrations and port authorities in Africa and Middle east regions, inter alia.

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport represents the League of Arab States, as one of the Intergovernmental Organization in the IMO meetings.

As we have accessibility to IMO meetings and publications, we are delighted to share the knowledge and information about the latest updates of IMO conventions and codes in addition to deliver CBPs.

The available STCW courses:

- Familiarization Training Program for Ships Operating in Polar Waters.

- Advanced Training Program for Ships Operating in Polar Waters.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for any query.

Moreover, tuition fees of the CPBs and its periods are subject of discussion, based on venue and number of trainees.

The IMO Compound experts assist Arab States in preparing their files to be submitted to the IMO so they can be fully included in the IMO white list and to prepare their Independent Evaluation Files, which shall be approved by the IMO Maritime Safety Committee every 5 years.
