Research and Developments Department

"The Research and Development Department is one of the departments affiliated to the Industry Service Complex of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport. It is a strong impetus to encourage the members of the Academy and the students to implement applied research projects in all engineering fields within the framework of economic, scientific and technical development.The department aims to employ all capabilities and services from specialized workshops and laboratories in the complex in order to interact with the traditional issues and problems of Egypt in order to find unconventional solutions that depend on technology, and provide expertise and technical advice so that to consider the research and development department as a research consultation entity for the community.The department''s vision stems from the fact that scientific research and consultations are the main pillar in the society service. All industrial and technological problems need experts and specialists to find solutions and putting it into practical scope in front of civil society institutions and authorities in the state to contribute promoting sustainable community development and to raise efficiency in performance and operating. The presence of an elite of the academic staff of the Academy and the possibility of seeking the assistance of some experts from outside the university makes the department - as an advisory and executive entity - able to meet the requirements of society."

Department established on 2016, in 2021 we complete 5 years of achievements.

• Applying for local, regional and international applied research grants.
• Carrying out applied technical scientific research.
• Implementing research grants within the Academy.
• Providing technical consultations inside and outside the Academy as a point of contact between industry and the academic field.
• Providing technical support to the students of the Academy in order to implement graduation projects that serve research and development goals.
• Providing assistance to students and faculty staff in applied research.
• Embrace research and project ideas to take advantage of the latest scientific ideas.
• Achieving the academic goals related to the policy of scientific research and technical consultations.
• Coordination between the scientific departments that are related to the technical advice received.
• To overcome the difficulties that may face applied scientific research in the college, in coordination with the competent authorities.
• Supporting scientific research through scientific seminars and conferences.
• Developing research capabilities through grants that respond quickly to scientific developments.
• Supporting the formation of research teams and communication networks between researchers within the complex and their counterparts.
• Establishing distinguished relationships with local, regional and global institutions and research centers with a view to mutual benefit from intellectual, material and human capabilities.
• Implementing and organizing the Egypt Youth for Skills Competition annually.
• Supervising and reviewing the preparation of technical specifications for equipment and devices in tenders and participating in studying offers submitted by suppliers."
