Dean`s Word

Industry is one of the most important sources of national income of developed countries. The current era has witnessed huge industrial development to the extent that the budget of a single successful international industrial company may be equal to the budget of a whole country. The most important factors of industry success are innovation, improvement and availability of skillful technicians who can fulfill industry demands and cope with its development, in addition to being aware of the importance of preserving the environment and applying safety and health standards.

Based on the Arab and regional role of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, which aims at raising the competitiveness level of Arab products and workers, and in order to achieve compatibility between the industry demands and the Academy's role, AASTMT established the Industry Service Complex (ISC) with a clear mission to serve the industry sector and fulfill its demands by facilitating the transfer of modern technology, and providing technical consultations, in addition to providing adequately qualified technicians. With the cooperation of BTEC, the Technical and Vocational Institute, which is part of the ISC, offers a High National Diploma, a two year study program, in Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering, that is accredited in 110 countries all over the world.

Along a brief time span, and thanks to the successive efforts of the former and current leaders and cadres of ISC, ever since it was established in 2004, the complex has acquired a distinguished status in all its various roles. Inside AASTMT, ISC plays a major role in conducting training workshops, such as woodworking and metal works, and offering practical training to the students. ISC teaches the "Know How" knowledge transfer and offers consultancies. ISC’s Technical Vocational Institute has an important role in the training field, by offering training to individuals and companies. The Industry Service Complex has gained the trust of various governmental institutions and major private companies to provide training to more than 10000 young people who have joined the training courses either on their own or have been sent by their companies.
