History of MRCC

MRCC is considered one of the main bodies of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport that was established to achieve the Academy`s research objectives that are oriented towards enhancing and developing the maritime transport sector at the member countries. The verdict of the Egyptian Minister of Transport no. 84/29 (maritime transport) on 1984 came out to establish the Maritime Research and Consultation Center in the organizational framework of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport as a research institute serving the maritime sector in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Arabian and African countries as well.
 
Although its establishment was documented on 1984, the actual experience was extended for 9 years prior that year, which adds to the aggregated work and research experience of the center that started since the establishment of the Arab Academy itself on 1972. The current organizational structure of the center helps it to benefit from the different potentialities and capabilities of the Arab Academy such as the teaching staff physical capabilities like the library and the computer center, various workshops and labs and that is amongst many other benefits.

Throughout more than three decades the Center had proudly bear the responsibility of being the lead in providing applied researches and consultation services in the field of maritime transport industry. The center had also made significant contributions that have helped many port authorities and maritime transport companies gain competitive advantages.
