The port of Damiat received The training ship (Aida 4) as part of its tour had visited that includes a number of Egyptian ports with a delegation of students from the Faculty of Maritime Transport and Technology of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport headed by Captain / Ahmed Onsi, Dean of the Institute of Training at Sea and the accompanying delegation, where they were received by Rear Admiral A. H / Ahmed Abdel Moaty Hawash, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Damietta Port Authority and the leaders of the authority.
The visit began with an explanatory presentation for the college students, which dealt with the most important stations of Damietta Port, its competitive advantages, and its current and future projects. Then the attendees took a field tour that included the port’s gas liquefaction station, which is one of the most important facilities of Damietta Port, being one of the largest liquefaction and gas export stations in the Middle East. The delegation was briefed on a course Working with it and its important role in supporting Egypt`s position as a regional energy center in the region, which enhances securing the European market`s needs of liquefied gas.
This was followed by a visit to the port`s pilotage tower and learning about its role in managing ship traffic and coordinating the movements of the fleet of marine services units, then going to the Damietta Container and Goods Handling Company and learning about the work stages inside it, including loading and unloading containers and stowing them in the yards designated for them.
For his part, Rear Admiral A.H. / Ahmed Hawash praised the fruitful and constructive cooperation between the Damietta Port Authority and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport. He expressed his happiness at meeting the honorable models of the students of the Faculty of Maritime Transport and Technology and urged them to link scientific and theoretical materials with reality and practical training, and wished them success. in their future professional lives.
